Extended 50-500 kVA Warranty To 2 Years

Extended warranties are available for purchase on ABLE water cooled diesel generators.

The standard Water Cooled Diesel Generator warranty is as follows: 

• The warranty is for 12 months or 1000 hours.
• Batteries are not included in our warranty.
• We warrant our products for faulty parts and defective workmanship.
• This warranty does not cover misuse, incorrect or irregular maintenance and accidents during use.
• If a product or part is faulty, we require it to be sent back to us including a copy of the Tax Invoice.
• Once the item or part is tested and is faulty, it will be repaired or replaced under warranty.
• The purchaser is responsible for all postage costs of returning any faulty item back to us and is also responsible for the postage costs incurred when we send the replacement part back to the purchaser.

Many generators go into what is known as a "backup" service instead of "prime" or "sole power source"; this may include the following scenarios:

• Off grid Solar with battery storage.
• Off grid Battery Storage.
• Manual switching mains failure.
• Automatic switching Mains failure.
• Sole power source - single generator.
• Sole power source - multiple generator redundancy.
• Sole power source - synchronised / paralleled operation.

In a backup scenario a generator may not be called upon to start if the main source of power is relaible and constant for a majority of the time. #

In this case you may want to extend the warranty if for no other reason than peace of mind.

The Extended Warranty is an extension of time only, not run / duty cycle hours.

Note: Oil / water / fuel degrades over time. 

• Oil:
  • During temperature cycles of your engine, even when not in use, moisture is produced and will contaminate your oil.
  • Oxidation occurs in oil breaking down its structure.
  • High heat increases the oxidation rate.
  • Viscosity loss occurs during compression of the oil between moving parts.
  • Fuel dilution due to short run periods or 'under loading' often leading to glazing. 
• Coolant:
  • During temperature cycles of your engine as well as exposure to air, coolant elements break down.
• Fuel:
  • Petrol / Gasoline is a highly refined volotile product; these 'volotile' compenents evaporate over time leading to inefficient burn rates.
  • As Diesel ages a fine sediment and gum forms due to the reaction with oxygen leading to blocked filters and starvation. LINK

# In a backup situation it is advised to start the generator at least on a monthly basis to ensure its functionality is tested as well as lubricating moving parts.
